The Riverside Township
The Riverside Township Committee is comprised of five (5) members that are elected at large during the annual elections. These elections are partisan and each committee member serves a staggered three-year term upon election. Each member of our Township Committee serves as the head of various township departments, overseeing the work of those areas along with overall legislative issues and executive responsibilities. The members of the committee select the Mayor and Deputy Mayor to serve for a one-year term. Their power is equal and not as individuals so all matters must be decided by a majority of the committee.
The Township Committee holds a regular meeting each month to discuss matters affecting the Township and to take formal action as is necessary to the operation of the Township. Township meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at the Riverside Municipal Building located at 1 West Street, 2nd Floor at 7:00 p.m.
